January / February

31st January - 3rd February

Redcar & Cleveland Winter Walking Festival

The Redcar & Cleveland Winter Walking Festival is from 31 January – 3 February, to see the programme of walks and to book your place visit the website.


7th - 15th March

Crickhowell Walking Festival
A walking festival with a difference... There are more than 70 guided walks catering for all ages, abilities and interests - the only common element is that they all take place within the stunning landscape of the Brecon Beacons National Park.


1st- 10th April

Walk Scilly 2020

Come and enjoy a week of themed, guided walks across all the islands.  Enjoy a week of fantastic full day and half day walks across all the inhabited islands and some of the uninhabited ones too.   A fantastic season opener for everyone looking to enjoy some Scilly spring sunshine and guided walks across all five inhabited islands, and many of the uninhabited ones. Get set for some island "top to toes", through the eyes of an islander walks, farm tours and talks, wildlife safaris, historical walks, sunset strolls and more.

10th - 13th April

Boroughbridge Easter Walking Festival
Join Boroughbridge Walkers are Welcome in the heart of Yorkshire for walks through time and entertainment, whether its a Roman Ramble, a visit to Rabbit Hill, a guided tour of The Inns of Boroughbridge, or a Treasure Hunt; there's something for all the family.

Dearne Valley Walking Festival
To celebrate their tenth year of existence, Dearne Valley Walking Group are holding a week-long walking festival in April.

The walking festival will comprise of a series of eight walks across the Dearne Valley area, all of which will be led by experienced members of the group.  The walks have been selected to celebrate the splendour of the Dearne Valley, which although once one of Europe’s most industrialised areas, still has many unspoilt areas of natural beauty and rich heritage.

15th - 19th April

Chepstow Walking Week

Join this popular walking festival which is firmly established on the 'walkers' map. 35 walks led by experienced guided walk leaders ranging from a shortish family stroll to a challenging hike.  Full programme online from early February.

19th - 24th April  

Walk Islay
The week-long walking festival takes place annually across the Isles of Islay, Jura and Colonsay.  Walks vary from easy to strenuous and take in the beautiful island scenery, from beaches and lochs, to mountains and moorland.  Wildlife abounds in all corners with a chance to see eagles, otters, deer, goat and chough

19th - 24th April

Boscastle Walking Week

A range of walks and activities with local guides in the beautiful coastal village of Boscastle and the surrounding area.  In the eleventh year of the festival, there will be an extended range of walks and activities to pick and mix from - suitable for all ages and abilities.  You could join one of our experienced and informed local guides on a ramble to waterfalls or steep climbs to Cornwall’s highest coastal cliff top, or meander along the country lanes and pathways that would have been familiar to the writer Thomas Hardy, whose life-changing visit to Boscastle produced poetry regarded by many as amongst the finest in the English language.

24th - 26th April

Kington Walks Spring Weekend
Kington is a picturesque walking hub on trails including Offa’s Dyke and the Mortimer Trail and criss-crossed by ancient drovers’ routes.  
Following the success of their first Spring Weekend in 2018, keen walkers can enjoy another weekend of spectacular walking with sublime views, welcoming pubs, good food, and the great company of fellow walkers.

24th - 26th April

A range of walks around Galashiels and the surrounding area, this event is very much a local festival and is run for the good and benefit of the community.

25th - 26th April

The Heart of Kent Walking Festival

The Heart of Kent Walking Festival will be taking place in and around Maidstone, featuring walks that incorporate the breath-taking views of the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, seasonal bluebells at Hucking Estate and lovely local villages. No matter what your age or ability, The festival will provide the opportunity to embrace the great outdoors, relax in nature and meet friendly, like-minded people.

25th April - 4th May

Mole Valley Ramblers - Spring Walks Festival

A ten day Walks Festival with the aim to encourage anyone to experience the Surrey countryside, exercise for healthy living and walk with a friendly group. There’s something for everyone, short walks, long walks, leisurely to challenging, with pubs, picnics, and even an evening/night walks, plus the challenge to walk 100 miles.

25th April - 4th May

Ulverston WalkFest
Set on the fringe of the beautiful Lake District the annual Ulverston walking festival celebrates the town and surrounding area’s rich history. The festival programme will offer walks for all ages and abilities including the Sir John Barrow Amble, a walk in the footsteps of the Quakers, "Walks for Wheels", nature walks and map reading activities.

Keynsham Walking Festival
Join Keynsham  Walkers are Welcome for a series of walks around the beautiful countryside between Bristol and Bath.

Tetbury Walking Festival
This year the festival has 9 walks (including one for pushchairs and wheelchairs) all starting from Tetbury Goods Shed Arts Centre.

Dawlish Walking Festival
The fourth Walking Festival in Dawlish celebrates the wonderful walking in the town, in nearby wooded hills, and by the sea along the red rocky coast.

28th April - 4th May

ride2sride - The Settle-Carlisle Walking Festival
ride2stride is a festival of walks, talks and music along the fabulous Settle-Carlisle railway line.  It's a week long celebration of the wonderful landscape and culture of the western Dales and Eden Valley.  The festival is made up of lots of events and activities and things will be happening along the length of the line. Walks will be led from stations by experienced walk leaders. Speakers will share their local knowledge and love of the area, and the pubs will be buzzing with music and song.
