The Walking Festival programme for 2022 is getting back on track after the relaxing of restrictions from the continuing Coronavirus situation. After an easier 2021, more and more festivals are returning for 2022.  Here's a list of all the walking festivals and related events we know about happening between June and August 2022.

The Lincolnshire Wolds Outdoor Festival
This exciting new Festival aims to provide a huge variety of outdoor activities to enjoy whilst showcasing all that this amazing part of the country has to offer in terms of sports, recreation, exploration, discovery and fun...
16th May - 6th June  -  NOT YET CONFIRMED FOR 2022


Farnham Walking Festival
Get outdoors and explore Farnham on foot with the Farnham Walking Festival.  The Festival is organised by Farnham Town Council and a team of walking enthusiasts and features everything from half-mile strolls to 14-mile hikes.  Each walk is led by a volunteer who is an expert in their field.  The walks are free to join but booking is essential.

Chilterns May Walking Festival
The Chilterns May Walking Festival will take place in 2022 and promises an exciting programme of hikes, guided tours and special events right across the Chilterns.

Geofest (Fforest Fawr Geopark Festival)
GeoFest is two weeks of walks, talks and other events in the Fforest Fawr UNESCO Global Geopark.

Guernsey Spring Walking Festival
Spring is a perfect time to explore the beautiful blossoming coastlines or amble around Guernsey.  Whether you want to take a short walk, a more serious coastal ramble or discover our beautiful ancient town, the Spring Walking Festival has walks to suit everyone.

Guided walks include coastal, inland and town walks, historical, nature and the arts; all led by the Bailiwick of Guernsey’s gold and silver Accredited Guides.

Rutland Walking and Cycling Festival
Discover England's smallest county on foot or on wheels in the 7 day festival.

Malvern Walking Festival
9 days of themed and guided walks on and around the Malvern Hills.  Add to that, the fact that the Malvern Hills are in an Area of Outstanding Natural beauty and it’s not surprising the Festival has proved so popular.

Wrexham Walking Festival
9 days of FREE walks exploring the history and beauty of North-East Wales.

Somerset Levels and Moors Strollers 2 Day Festival
As usual there will be a 42k, 20k, 10k and 5k walk on both days.  The 42k registration is from 0730 to 0830, 20k from 0830 to 1000 and the 10k/5k from 1100 to 1400. All walkers have to return by 1800.

The Quantock Hills Walking Festival
A weekend of guided walks to suit all abilities in and around the Quantock Hills, the West Somerset coast and an opportunity to walk the new Castles and Coast Trail.  Many of the walks will have a theme, led by local experts.  All walks start and finish in the village of Nether Stowey.

Corsham Walking Festival
For our 8th Walking Festival, we have again numerous walks, and we hope you will find something to enjoy. To cater for a wide range of walking enthusiasts and abilities our walks vary in distance from 1.5 to 16.5 miles that go from Easy through Moderate to Challenging.

Wotton Walking Festival
The fourth Wotton Walking Festival takes place in 2022 around the town and the surrounding countryside with a three day festival.

Top of the Gorge Festival
Join the team for our third visit atop the gorge, for a festival filled with outdoor adventure, inspirational speakers and plenty of challenges and activities to take part in.

The Annual South Downs Way Walk
One of the longest-running walking festivals, this is a weeks worth of walking on the South Downs Way National Trail through the National Park.  Do a single section or the complete 100 miles.

North Wessex Downs AONB 50th Anniversary Walking Festival
With 28 walks on offer across the length and breadth of the North Wessex Downs our festival is a celebration of the stunning landscapes, gorgeous scenery and top-class walking country that the AONB has to offer – and its 50th Anniversary as a protected landscape.

Moray Walking and Outdoor Festival
Let the Moray Walking and Outdoor Festival take you on an adventure in 2022.  Enjoy long Midsummer days exploring Moray’s world renowned golden coasts, hills and forests full of hidden fauna and flora, whisky coloured rivers and towns with stories to tell and culture to experience.  There’s something for everyone – guided walks, talks and events along side outdoor activities and walking challenges.

Herefordshire Walking Festival
Nine-day festival with walking and navigation skills training, a bike ride and a new long distance walking route.

Otley Walking Festival
You will be sure of a warm welcome on the 21st Otley Walking Festival with around 50 great walks in stunning Wharfedale.  With good company and fantastic scenery assured there is a variety of walks – short town-based walks, strenuous moorland hikes and everything in between, plus a full evening events programme.
26th June -  CONFIRMED FOR 2022


Purbeck Plod 2022
The Purbeck Plod was introduced in 1965 and ran yearly through to 2002.  The East Dorest Ramblers re-introduced the walk in 2008 adding the options of a 25 mile run and a 16 mile walk and in 2018 a 12 mile route was added for walkers.

Evesham Walking Festival
Lace up your boots and head to Worcestershire for the 2022 Evesham Walking Festival.  This five day festival, organised by Evesham Rambling Club, provides a selection of enjoyable themed walks to suit a range of abilities.  There will be plenty to discover along the way with short talks and activities as walkers enjoy the beauty and surroundings of the Vale of Evesham and North Cotswolds.

Otley Walking Festival

Pendle Walking Festival

Join us on one of the country’s largest free walking festivals.  There will be guided walks every day to suit walkers of all abilities, ranging from easy walks of a couple of miles to fantastic challenge walks like The Pendle Way.

Mendip Ramblers Free Walking Festival

Three days of walking, with up to four walks per day, guided by the local ramblers. Discover the history and landscape around Shepton Mallet.

Dartmoor Walking Festival
In what promises to be a fantastic showcase of all that Dartmoor National Park has to offer, the Dartmoor Walking Festival will offer a variety of walks, talks and events throughout its 9 day programme.  The Festival is being organised by the Moorland Guides, who will be offering a variety of half and full days walks across the whole of the National Park. In addition to this will be some Dartmoor National Park Authority Ranger-led walks, providing an insight into the work they do.

White Cliffs Walking Festival

2022 is the eight walking festival, with new walks with a particular emphasis on culture and nature as well as some of great scenic beauty.  There's something for everything with a wide range of walks to suit everyone.  This festival will encourage you to take a break and get to know some of our wonderful local countryside, whether you are an experienced walker or not.
